Jane Fonda is an Army wife who befriends a bitter paraplegic veteran (Jon Voight). When their friendship blossoms into romance, both must question the status of their lives and their feelings about the Vietnam War. Directed by Hal Ashby (Harold and Maude), Fonda and Voight won Academy Awards for their performances in this moving drama. This screening will be introduced by Alice Bullitt, M.A., in conjunction with the film course Beyond Barbarella: Jane Fonda and Womanhood.
