While best known as the highest-profile early bassist for Parliament/Funkadelic and leader of "Bootsy's Rubber Band", Boosty's very young band so impressed the Godfather of Soul back in 1969 that he asked them to become his regular back-up band, and they were re-named The J.B.'s. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has collaborated with artists ranging from Doc Watson (here on Sun., June 5!) to Hank Williams Jr., Madonna, Iggy Pop, and Victor Wooten. Along with P/Funk and the Rubber Band, he's presented some of the most stunning and revolutionary live funk shows in the history of music.
