The Capitol Steps
September 24, 2011
The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers in ‘81 who set out to satirize the very people & places that employed them. They dig into daily headlines creating song parodies & skits conveying a special brand of satirical humor. Although not all current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, they’ve collectively worked among eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of experience. Since beginning, the Capitol Steps have recorded over 30 albums, including their latest, Liberal Shop of Horrors and Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree and have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC & PBS, and heard on NPR stations during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. (Cabaret Seats are reserved for Theater Members until 7/24)
