Please join The Clay Studio for the "First Look" Pre-Opening Preview Sale and Benefit of Small Favors VI on Thursday, May 5, 2011. Here enthusiasts and collectors alike will have the first look at and opportunity to purchase these diminutive creations before the May 6, First Friday opening crowds. Come early and ensure your favorites go home with you! Gain early admission by making a fully tax-deductible contribution to The Clay Studio and get your favorites ahead of the crowd! Now in its sixth year, Small Favors has became a favorite event of those in the know. Viewers marvel at the diversity of expression represented in the diminutive and affordable artworks handmade by over one hundred artists from across the United States. Small and in some cases miniature, these works were created in response to The Clay Studio's invitation challenging them to rethink their work based on the confines of a defined space--a space less than 4" in any direction. This exhibition engages their creativity in new and exciting ways. For some, the work created for Small Favors is similar to what they normally make, albeit at a reduced scale. For others, it becomes an opportunity to break away from what they know and create daily in their studio practices. Regardless of the choice made, the works exhibited are incredibly varied in all ways but one. Though the scale is small, the impact is huge. This exhibition is sponsored by Zero Defect Design LLC.
