Prisoner of Second Avenue
June 23-July 16, 2011
Mel Edison can’t sleep. A well paid executive, his firm suddenly hits rock bottom and he’s let go. In the heat of a New York City summer, his air conditioner is broken, the neighbors won’t shut up and there is a band of burglars on the prowl. Mel experiences a meltdown and it's the best thing that ever happened to him, but his loyal wife Edna is the one who has to gather all the broken pieces. Prisoner opened on Broadway in 1971 and was nominated for the coveted Tony Award for Best Play. Montgomery Theater celebrates this comic masterpiece with a 40th anniversary production.
