“The Art of Recycling” is front and center during Abington Art Center’s first-ever Sculpture Challenge. In collaboration with Montgomery County’s Recycling Office, teams will build outdoor sculpture out of found objects from nature and recyclable materials. Teams can be families, friends. classmates, art clubs, environmental groups, scout troops or others who want to work together on a sculpture. Bring picnic and watch the teams build and take a tour of Alverthorpe Manor home to Abington Art Center and former home of rare book collector, Lessing Rosenwald. “The Art of Recycling” is the kick off event for Montgomery County’s six-month long art contest that will culminate with an exhibition of artwork on America Recycles Day in mid-November. Teams should pre-register by calling Heather at 215-887-4882 or online at http://sculpturechallenge.eventbrite.com
