Naomi Sato, sho (mouth-organ): the sho is a mouth-blown organ with 17 bamboo pipes similar in design and timbre to the pipes in a western organ. It is traditionally used in gagaku, or Japanese court music. Naoko Kikuchi, koto: classic koto music and chamber music modern and comtemporary; improvization, and more. Ralph Samuelson, shakuhachi (end-blown flute): "The dramatic shape of introspective meditation was left for Ralph Samuelson to evoke in an ethereal shakuhachi work."– New York Times. Kaoru Watanabe, nohkan (transverse flute): "Kaoru is reinventing the tradition and pushing the edge of innovation- all within one deep breath and one clear sound."– Kenny Endo. Presented in collaboration with Soundfield.
