The Delaware College of Art and Design will host its Fifth Annual Scholarship Gala at World Café Live. DCAD is the first organization scheduled to have a major event at downtown’s newest venue. The evening will celebrate artwork by the College’s Associate of Fine Arts Degree Program students and the different pieces will be sold in a silent auction along with other select items. The pieces of student artwork will be available for preview and early bidding. The online auction will officially begin April 1. The evening will also include a live auction and live entertainment, including a tableau vivant created by DCAD students. A tableau vivant recreates an artistic masterpiece in a matter of seconds. At the 2010 gala, students recreated Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper", which was a huge hit with attendees. Honorary chairs for this year's event are accomplished artists Sarah Lamb and David Larned. Proceeds from the gala will go toward DCAD scholarships.
