Latin jazz artist Suzzette Ortiz will be appearing at the Collingswood Community Center on April 7th and with her will be bassist Rob Hagopian, saxophonist Frank Machos, and drummer Francios Zayas. Hailing from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Ortiz is a gifted pianist, singer, arranger and composer who has been an in-demand opener for the late Tito Puente, Compay Segundo (Buena Vista Social Club), Eddie Palmieri, and Hilton Ruiz. Ortiz has headlined locally at Zanzibar Blue, the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, Cape May Jazz Festival, Chicken Bone Beach Jazz Festival, Robin Hood Dell East, Mann Music Center, and at the Wilmington Opera House. Recently, she captured lots of attention at the “La Paz” Jazz Festival in Bolivina and the Per Cuba Jazz Festival in Cuba as well. Ortiz has a CD coming out and will be playing new compositions from her new project...don't miss this performance!
