Max Mannon is the baddest of bad guys—drugging innocent victims to steal their money, using deceit and murder to get his greedy hands on more ranch land, and ruining perfectly good violins just because he’s so mean. But he meets his match when “High Pockets” Henderson comes to town. Throw in some good old fashioned detective work and a ghost or two, and Max will get his just deserts—in a way neither you nor Max will see coming. All this, and romance and comedy too, as we present Betzwood’s best known cowboy star, Louis Bennison, in his 1919 feature film, HIGH POCKETS. The program will also include two early westerns starring the first Betzwood cowboy, Edgar Jones. Professor Joseph Eckhardt will discuss the making of the Betzwood westerns and relay the tale of Louis Bennison’s meteoric and ultimately tragic career. And, as always, the films will be accompanied live on the organ by the ever popular DON KINNIER.
