Learn the unique characteristics that make certain types of wood perfect for creating world-class instruments. See how Steinway crafts its world-renowned pianos and learn the story of Longwood’s 1923 custom Steinway grand piano. This dynamic exhibit takes place in the Music Room inside the Conservatory and honors the International Year of the Forest as declared by the United Nations General Assembly to raise awareness on sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests around the globe.
