Discover the hidden world of ants at the 2011 Westbrook Lecture “Adventures Among Ants.” Ecologist, photographer and intrepid world-traveler Dr. Mark Moffett will discuss his exploration of the parallels between ant colonies and human societies. Dr. Mark Moffett is a Research Associate in Entomology at the Smithsonian Institution. His work focuses on the ecology of forest canopies and the behavior of social insects. He is the author of 80 peer-reviewed publication and 3 books, including Adventures Among Ants, winner of the 2010 National Outdoor Book Award. Additionally, he is a widely published photojournalist with over 500 images featured in National Geographic, including their March 2011 issue. He has appeared on the Colbert Report and Late Night with Conan O'Brien and has his own website – Dr. Bugs
