Ban Chiang: A New Perspective
April 19, 2011
Ban Chiang, an UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thailand, is an iconic archaeological site that remains an enigma and a challenge. Charles Higham, Professor of Anthropology in the University of Otago and an Honorary Fellow of St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, considers two interpretations of its place in Southeast Asian prehistory, and assesses its significance based on new discoveries at Ban Chiang itself and beyond.
