Rebels In Paris
April 22, 2011
Vox Ama Deus presents a fascinating Good Friday evening performance by the Ama Deus Ensemble featuring intriguing and famous works highlighting the dynamics of change in music in early 20th century Paris. The original program provides selections marking the transitional sunset of the Romantic era with Faure's Pavane & Requiem, and the dawning of the new movement of folk, ethnic and symphonic jazz with Stravinsky's "Ragtime" (a short piece for 11 soloists) and Gershwin's American in Paris and Porgy & Bess Symphonic Suite.
