April 12, 1861: there will be heroes, villains, patriots and rebels. Join us for a tour that will focus on prominent participants in the opening phase of the bloody and tragic era of the Civil War. Hear the stories of the commander of Philadelphia's and the nation's first troops to the front; one of the war's first casualties; the Philadelphia General who despised Lincoln and who prolonged the war; a lady who was one of the first to volunteer to nurse the wounded; captains of industry who ramped up production to provide arms and equipment desperately needed for the war; and many others noted and little known who contributed to the outbreak of war.
