Titanic: Marking the 99th Anniversary of Her Sinking
April 9, 2011
Every year in April, Laurel Hill Cemetery commemorates the solemn anniversary of the sinking of the “Ship of Dreams”. The event commences with a walking tour of West Laurel Hill, where six Titanic-related men and women rest. Following the walking tour, a slide-supported presentation will highlight the connection between Philadelphia and the Titanic. The day continues at Laurel Hill Cemetery where you will visit the burial places of additional Titanic passengers, and hear their unique stories. The evening will be capped off by a cocktail reception at Laurel Hill.
