On Saturday, March 19, everyone interested in historic buildings and their restoration is invited to a free presentation on the restoration work being done at the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation. Claire Donato, R.A., LEED AP, Senior Associate and Director of Restoration and Historic Architecture for Mark B. Thompson Associates LLC (MBTA), will present the program. The presentation focuses on the traditional building materials and construction exemplified by the Plantation’s buildings. Additionally, it will focus on a comparison of the Plantation’s architectural history and restoration with 17th and 18th century projects in the Philadelphia area using the firm’s work at the Belmont Mansion as an example. The program will begin at 1 PM in the Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park located off of Gradyville Road in Edgmont.

The Plantation is a living history farm museum of the 18th century. The farm site opens for the 2011 season on April 2. For more information call 610 566-1725 or visit www.colonialplantation.org this and other events.
