Breadboard will collaborate with the Virtual Public Art Project to develop site specific virtual art works to be viewed by iPhone and Android smartphone platforms. Breadboard will work with VPAP to engage local and international artists to develop unique Augmented Reality art works that will be geo-tagged to specific locations around Philadelphia and visible via a free, Layar App that can be downloaded to iPhone and Android operating systems. Viewers will have the unique opportunity to experience an emergent art form and experience new media technology that is a growing influence on social and commercial interactions. Breadboard is a new Philadelphia program (launched in January, 2010) at the University City Science Center that explores art & design at the intersection of technology. This event is part of the 2011 Philadelphia International Festival Of The Arts (PIFA).
