At Al-Bustan Camp, children and teenagers appreciate Arab culture while developing new language skills. Open to participants of all ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds, "Al-Bustan", Arabic for "The Garden", encourages dialogue, understanding, respect and a celebration of diversity. This summer's theme explores the arts, culture and environment of Lebanon. Al-Bustan offers rising 2nd-8th graders a fun, thematically-integrated program of Arabic, Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Poetry and Science, led by a team of specialized teachers/artists (many of whom are nationally-renowned in their fields). Knowledge of Arabic is by no means required, but campers are sure to enjoy Camp more if they are interested in learning the language. For high school students, a parallel program includes a fun and enriching 3-week experience of culture and identity through Video, Poetry, Art, Music, and Arabic.
