Cartoonist, novelist and playwright Lynda Barry writes and draws the nationally syndicated comic strip Ernie Pook's Comeek, featuring pre-teen characters Marlys and Freddie as they navigate the emotional traumas of growing up. Barry is also the author of the Alex Award-winning book, One Hundred Demons and The Good Times are Killing Me, which was adapted as an off-Broadway musical. Winner of a 2009 Eisner Award, her bestselling graphic memoir and how-to book What It Is offered writers gentle creative guidance. Barry offers the same guidance to artists in Picture This—encouraging you to draw and exploring why people start drawing and why they stop. Like What It Is, her new book is an extension of Barry’s popular traveling workshop, “Writing the Unthinkable". Join the Free Library for Happy Hour at the Free Library!
