The Young Friends of The Schuylkill Center support and promote the mission of The Schuylkill Center through social, educational, and fundraising activities. It is a social and philanthropic group for members and non-members ages 21 to 45.

Around the first full moons in May and June horseshoe crabs arrive in the Delaware Bay for mating. Millions of these ancient creatures make their way on shore and lay eggs, just in time for the Red Knot migration. These birds, which fly from South America to Arctic Canada, rely on the eggs of the horseshoe crabs to fuel their incredible journey north. We’ll spend the morning bird watching and combing the beach for horseshoe crabs at Slaughter Beach in Delaware. In the afternoon, we’ll travel a short distance to the Dogfish Head Brewery where we’ll enjoy a tour and some beverages! Lunch and dinner not included. Registration required.
