Springtime in Our Backyard: Artist Talk and Native Wildflower Walk
May 7, 2011
Join The Schuylkill Center as we welcome Spring with artist Mary Fran Cardamone. Ms. Cardamone will discuss the stories and the inspiration for her gallery show, The Natural History of My Backyard. After Cardamone's presentation, Joanne Donohue, Manager of Land Restoration at The Schuylkill Center, will lead the group on a walk on our wooded trails. Witness the quiet awakening of the forest from the ground up as you make your way down through the ravine cut by Smith's Run. Explore the upland plant communities and streamside species of our canopy trees, understory and the beautiful herbaceous layer at your feet.
