Womens Committee Gala for Secrets of the Silk Road
February 9, 2011
The Tarim Mummies of Western China, considered to be the world's most well-preserved, are just one of the more than 100 objects that will be on view, including jewelry and jewel-encrusted vessels, silks, textiles, clothing, masks, tool, coins and other goods buried with the mummies, only recently excavated from a site along the world's most legendary trade route dated 1800-1500 B.C. Includes the exhibit, cocktails and dinner, live auction and a raffle auction as well and "Silk Road-inspired" entertainment. Public most welcome to attend.
