Maestra Mary Woodmansee Green presents a discussion of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and its time period, followed by an intense performance of the piece along with Debussy's Sacred and Profane Dances. Composed in Paris between 1911 and 1913 for the Ballets Russes, Stravinsky's groundbreaking Rite of Spring caused near-riots at its premiere and has continued to engage music lovers for 100 years.
