ScrapArtsMusic
April 7-April 9, 2011
Need convincing that recycling can be fun, creative and best of all, musical? The wildly inventive performance group ScrapArtsMusic features five hyper-kinetic performers who play instruments skillfully crafted from salvaged and recycled junk in a high-energy show rooted in street performance, jazz and world music traditions. Instruments such as an Annoy-O-Phone made from dishwasher hose, bagpipe reeds and a balloon, a Junk-on-a-Stick cymbal tree and a Sigh-Cordion made of plumbing fixtures, hose sections and accordion reeds, are just some of the 140 recycled instruments this talented group has created.
These performances are part of the 27th annual International Children's Festival.
