Killing Kasztner
March 27, 2011
Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival Special Programming. Nazi collaborator or Jewish hero? The debate over Rezsö Kasztner, a Hungarian Jew who negotiated with Adolf Eichmann for the lives of 1700 Jews during the Holocaust, has been going on for decades. By uncovering important trial documents and presenting personal interviews with eye witnesses, Gaylen Ross’s intriguing documentary Killing Kasztner exposes Kasztner’s turbulent life in Israel where he was prosecuted in a vicious libel trial that condemned him as “the man who sold his soul to the Devil”.
