Purveyors of the nu-folk bluegrass movement, Crooked Still are equal parts ambassador and innovators as evidenced on their latest release Some Strange Country. The musical prowess of this roots quintet is on display as radically re-imagined traditional fare blends seamlessly alongside four original compositions and a surprising take on the Rolling Stones’ “You Got The Silver”.

“This alt-country band impresses big time. While decidedly down home, their original music also proves surprisingly high-toned, refined and varied- chamber twang at its best.” – Philadelphia Daily News
“Some Strange Country [is] an incredible blend of instruments, voices and lyrics. Mellow, rhythmic and captivating all at once… It can sound old, but this is modern music at its most impressive and thoughtful.” NPR
