Daniel Peterson leads a diverse life in music, becoming deeply involved with a variety of progressive projects, while switching between the 8 woodwinds he performs on. He shows authority, range and consistency in choosing to work on things of high artistic merit, integrity and originality. As a sideman he has held long standing collaborations with Odean's Saxophone Choir & Collective Voices Ensembles; Bobby Zankel's Warriors of The Wonderful Sound; Avant Rock band Agent Moosehead, Modern Jazz Octet Puzzlebox and the free jazz quartet, Augmented Fourthtet. He has performed with the best in modern instrumental music including Rudresh Mahanthapah, Marty Erhlich, Ravi Coltrane, Billy Harper, Dave Burrell, and Dave Liebman. His studies have earned him a BA from Temple University in Jazz studies, private studies with Odean Pope, Ben Schachter and guitarist Steve Giordano. He has taught woodwinds and theory, at the nations largest music school, Settlement Music School since 2003.
