    April Glory: Unusual Herbaceous Perennials featuring Species Peonies Workshop

    Join Chuck Hinkle, garden supervisor; Jeff Jabco, coordinator of horticulture; and Eleanor Tickner, co-founder of the Mid Atlantic Peony Society (MAPS), to experience and learn about exceptional herbaceous perennials for the April garden. Unusual and native perennials, early flowering Clematis, species peonies and a few early flowering tree peonies will be covered. Come learn about Hepatica, Epimedium, Mertensia, Pulmonaria, Senecio, Jeffersonia, Dicentra and many more early spring-flowering plants. Class will conclude with weather dependent/optional walk to see many of these plants in bloom. Free species peony seedling to all attendees. Other species seedlings will be for sale (cash or check only).
