Contemporary figurative artists rely upon knowledge of anatomy as much as their historic predecessors. The artists exhibited in Anatomy Now not only use anatomy as a tool for drawing and constructing their figures, but also as a source of inspiration, beauty, narrative, symbol, expression and pictorial organization. The study of anatomy continues to be a focal point in the training of art students at PAFA and remains a grounding influence for many of America's finest modern figurative artists.
