Victorian Valentines for Kids at Pennypacker Mills

Schwenksville, PA: What better way to prepare for Valentine’s Day than to make some over-the-top Valentine’s cards at Pennypacker Mills? Kids ages 5 and up are welcome to attend this special winter workshop where they will learn about how this holiday came to be and who that little cherub shooting arrows is! All these questions and more will be answered before we begin.

Using delicate, lacy doilies, red and white papers, and themed cut-outs called “Victorian scrap” kids can fashion cards that look like those of long-ago. Samples of creative cards will be on display and staff and volunteers will instruct and assist with individual cards. It’s an afternoon of creative fun, hot chocolate and cookies too! This workshop will be held on Sunday, February 13 from 1 to 3 pm.

Pennypacker Mills Historic Site is operated by the Montgomery County Department of Parks & Heritage Services and is one of four heritage sites, including six parks and eight regional trail systems. The Department preserves 6,000 acres of land and sixty miles of trails for the enjoyment of the general public.
