Glen Velez TA KA DI MI Project. The Art and Soul of Frame Drumming with Master Drummer Glen Velez and Rhythm Voice Virtuoso Lori Cotler. The student concert at the end of the masterclass series will incorporate the frame drum and shaker materials learned in the classes. Each student can participate at their own level, all levels are accommodated and each student can decide how much they want to be play, but we certainly encourage them to be part of this performance as a fantastic and practical way to experience the power of the group drumming collective. Glen Velez is a four-time Grammy Award winning master percussionist and composer. He is the founding Father of the modern Frame Drum movement and is regarded as a legendary figure among musicians and audiences worldwide. Lori Cotler has pioneered a new singing style that is quickly gaining her an international reputation as one of the most captivating vocalists of our time. Using exotic rhythms as her muse, she is able to execute with the human voice phrases that do not seem possible in their rhythmic speed and clarity. Lori's innovative approach to Konnakol has introduced this rare art form to a wide array of audiences, professional musicians and students alike.
