Glen Velez TA KA DI MI Project . The Art and Soul of Frame Drumming with Master Drummer Glen Velez and Rhythm Voice Virtuoso Lori Cotler. A Three-Part Workshop Series with Student Concert: Session 3 of 3 and student concert. Participants need not have prior drum training. All levels (beginners-advanced) will be accommodated. Through their collective experience into the art and language of frame drumming, rhythmic chanting and shaker playing, Glen and Lori will teach workshop participants how to develop their own unique rhythmic voice. We will engage in simple movements and clapping patterns, along with deep breathing and overtone singing to establish rhythmic unity and synchronize breath and pulse. The student concert at the end of the series will incorporate the frame drum and shaker materials learned in the classes. Each student can participate at their own level, all levels are accommodated. Participation is optional, but encouraged as a fantastic and practical way to experience the power of the group drumming collective. Each series participant will receive a signed certificate of completion, an individual photograph with Glen Velez and Lori Cotler, and the opportunity to purchase your favorite autographed Glen Velez Signature drum, at a discount. A gourmet buffet will be available from Avril Restaurant at each session for a fixed price.
