Great Jewish American Playwrights
March 17-March 31, 2011
This course will focus on three important contemporary American Jewish playwrights: Northeasterners Arthur Miller and Neil Simon, and Southerner Alfred Uhry. The class will examine how their ethnicity and backgrounds affected their works which have contributed so much to the American theater. It will feature monologues of some of the most interesting and poignant characters from several of their most famous plays: Death of a Salesman, Broadway Bound, Lost in Yonkers and Driving Miss Daisy.
