In celebration of War Dances by Sherman Alexie, Philadelphia's Magic Gardens presents Battle of the Bios, and opportunity for local authors and storytellers to compete for a $100 Grand Prize. Up to 20 writers and performers are invited to perform their own short, autobiographically inspired pieces for a chance to win three excellent prizes. The evening will be guest-hosted by Philebrity Lance Pawling and will feature free local beer, light refreshments, and the opportunity to explore PMG's exhibition, Remnants of a City: Leroy Johnson's Philadelphia. Audiences are invited to come with their own tales and their friends to vie for the awards--the winners are selected by the audience! This event is presented in conjunction with the Free Library of Philadelphia's One Book One Philadelphia 2011 program.
