Adding color to any canvas is both art and science. Al Gury’s new book offers practical information on technique by tracing the use of color in Western art from the classical to the contemporary, exploring the properties of various pigments and materials, and reviewing evolving approaches to color. He also offers step-by-step demonstrations of all the basic color genres and techniques and provides exercises for artists to practice mixing and using paints. After his talk–illustrated with images and examples–Al will be available to sign copies of this new work.
