Frances Trombly: Everything and Nothing
January 29-March 15, 2011
A twist on Duchamp's notion of the readymade, Frances Trombly's sculputres are meticulous recreations of mundate objects that would normally escape attention. Close attention to the minutiae of their own making reveals that her works are laboriously hand woven, embroidered, cross stiched or crocheted, positioning them in the fields of crafts traditionally associated with women's work.
