Choreographed by Nicolas Le Riche in 2005 for the Paris Opera Ballet, this innovative ballet explores the complex pathos of Rome’s most notorious emperor. Constructed like a tragedy and danced to Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Caligula builds on the energy of the music to depict the hero’s dramatic progression toward death.
