Cecidology 101 - Plant Galls of Pennsylvania: Winter Lecture Series
January 16, 2011
Plant galls are unique and sometimes colorful growths that come in many different shapes and sizes, and can be found on leaves, flowers, fruits, stems, branches, and even roots of plants. This presentation will introduce you to the fascinating field of cecidology, with a focus on the study of insect- and mite-induced galls. After this talk, you will never look at plants in the same way again. You may even find it hard to stop yourself from searching high and low for these often elusive growths on plants, known as galls.
