THEATRE

Annie
October 28-November 19, 2011
Book by Thomas Meehan. Music by Charles Strouse. Lyrics by Martin Charnin. Based on The Tribune Media Service Comic Strip, Little Orphan Annie. Winner of 6 Tony Awards. Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's most beloved musicals. Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace, and a loveable mutt named Sandy. Featuring "It's A Hard Knock Life", "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile", "Easy Street" and, of course, "Tomorrow", there is no better way to end five years of quality theatre than with this award-winning show!
