This landmark work of silent cinema details the imprisonment and trial of Joan of Arc. The drama is lauded for its advanced and influential camera techniques, such as the famous close-up on Maria Falconetti, whose portrayal of Joan of Arc is considered one of cinema’s best performances by an actress. Shown in conjunction with the first annual Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, and their theme, "Paris, 1911".
