Jules and Jim
April 5, 2011
One of the most influential films of the French New Wave, Jules and Jim follows two best friends—one French and one Austrian—as they are divided by war and their love for the same free-spirited, reckless woman (Jeanne Moreau). Revolutionary filmmaker Francois Truffaut’s adaptation of Henri-Pierre Roche’s autobiographical novel is as fresh today as when it was first released. Shown in conjunction with the first annual Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, and their theme of "Paris, 1911".
