    Arthur Penn was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for this avant-garde film that truly captures the essence of the 1960s counter-culture on screen. Arlo Guthrie stars as a young folk singer who confronts the draft, the law, and life in a commune in this bittersweet comedy based on Guthrie’s own epic ballad.
