Thomas and Victor, young men from Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation, embark on a road trip when Victor’s estranged father dies. The first feature to be written, directed and co-produced by Native Americans, Smoke Signals was adapted by acclaimed writer Sherman Alexie from his own short stories and is shown in conjunction with One Book One Philadelphia. Bryn Mawr College professor Bethany Schneider, Ph.D. will introduce the film.
