Fossil Collecting Field Study
March 19, 2011
Join Ned Gilmore, the Academy’s collection manager of Vertebrate Paleontology, on a field study to collect fossils from 70 million years ago. Discover animals and plants that once lived in the primeval swamps and seas of the Philadelphia region. Examine ancient sediments exposed from the diggings of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Keep what you find! (Scientifically significant specimens may be retained for the ANSP collections.)
