A Taste of History: Dining in the 18th Century
November 18, 2010
The seemingly simple act of eating was not so simple in the 18th century. All diners--from country farmers to the gentry--learned rules of etiquette that dictated most aspects of every meal. To help understand the technicalities of historic food preparation and dining, Kimberly Costa, an expert in women's history and food ways, presents A Taste of History: Dinning in the 18th Century. Guests will have the opportunity to sample historically accurate sweetmeats. Just in time for Thanksgiving, guests will also receive period recipes to try in their own kitchens. At their own risk.
