Grammy Award winning jazz saxophonist Kenny Garrett returns to Longwood for an evening of supreme artistry. Garrett, who had the honor and pleasure of recording and touring with Miles Davis during the last five years of Davis' life, has produced many critically acclaimed jazz albums. His most recent work, titled Sketches of MD is a recording of live open-ended melodies over grooves that each reflect the artistry of key sidemen from Miles Davis' many groups—from John Coltrane to Kenny himself. Special ticket required.
This event is part of the 2011 Philadelphia International Festival Of The Arts (PIFA).
