CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
Feltmaking l
October 16-October 23, 2010
Learn or review basic felt-making techniques and how artists have adapted and expanded them for contemporary use. The class will study the characteristics of different wools--how to select the right type, whether for a gossamer scarf or a sturdy pillow cover. Through guided practice you will gain confidence in your ability to turn carded wool into felt. Students will come away with a collection of finished personal samples: “sketches” for future work. No felt-making experience necessary. Class limited to 6.
