PECO World Culture Day: Celebrate Japan
November 14, 2010
PECO World Culture Day: Celebrate Japan! At the 150th anniversary of the first Japanese diplomatic mission to the U.S., Penn Museum offers an afternoon introduction to the rich and unique culture of Japan. The experiential day features the mesmerizing, vigorous beats of the Japanese taiko drums, Sward demonstration, kimono dressing and opportunity to try the deceptively simple-looking art of origami or learn more about traditional children's games and crafts! The afternoon, co-sponsored by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia and the Center for East Asian Studies, University of Pennsylvania, is part of the Penn Museum's series of 2010-2011 World Culture Days sponsored by PECO.
