Multi-week thematic courses in which parents and students participate together in art studio activities, museum tour activities, discussion and other multi-disciplinary activities. Throughout history the natural environment has been a powerful source of inspiration for visual artists. Through art and artmaking, this family class will introduce you to the increasingly urgent dialogue about sustaining the natural environment and living lightly on the planet. Projects will include creating a nature journal in which you can draw, write about and reflect on nature; painting landscape and still life paintings; making recycled art projects; and nature prints. Through the art making you will further develop an appreciation for the beauty of the natural environment; consider your impact on nature and roles you can take to care for and protect the environment. Instructor: Holly Storlie.
